Job Description

The post of CNM 2 ED (Admitted Patients) has a pivotal role in service planning coordinating and managing activity and resources within the clinical area.

The main responsibilities include quality assurance resource management facilitating communication and professional/clinical leadership as well as supporting patient flow within the Emergency Department. Communicating and acting as a vital link between the ED General Practitioners (GPs) and Community Care this respect they will liaise with Bed Management Wards Departments and other Paramedical Services where necessary. They will also liaise with the GP Liaison Nurse Clinical Nurse Manager III / Assistant Director of Nursing of the ED and other Nursing & Medical staff and other members of the MDT in order to exchange information on patients.

Understand the workings of GP practices community hospitals nursing homes and the Public Health Act as a source of expertise in admission avoidance and expediting discharges.
