About the role:

As Senior Coordinator University Records youll lead the delivery of two strategic university-wide projects focused on improving digital and physical records management. Youll establish and embed the new Records Champions Network fostering a culture of information stewardship across Deakin. This role combines expert project coordination with change leadership stakeholder engagement and strategic communication. Youll also provide trusted guidance to ensure compliance with information management legislation and university policy.


As a Senior Coordinator University records you will:

  • Identify business needs and opportunities for change gather and analyse requirements and translate complex issues into clear digital strategies and goals.
  • Plan coordinate and deliver records-related projects including resource management vendor coordination compliance tracking and reporting on outcomes.
  • Establish and lead the Records Champions Network providing training support and guidance to ensure consistent records management across all units.
  • Engage and communicate with stakeholders building strong relationships and implementing communication strategies to promote project awareness and support.
  • Deliver training and ensure compliance including appraising records for retention/disposal and aligning with legislative and policy requirements.

To be successful youll have:

  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications and/or extensive experience in records management project coordination training or a related field ideally within the higher education sector.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex projects within large or multifaceted organisations preferably in an education or similarly structured environment.
  • Strong communication and training skills with experience developing and distributing materials across diverse and complex organisational settings.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement expertise working effectively with a wide range of internal and external parties to achieve shared goals.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian records and archives legislation particularly the Public Records Act 1973 (Vic) and its application in organisational contexts.
