Neste Netherlands is part of the Finnish parent company Neste. The plant in Rotterdam produces renewable fuels. Together with 200 colleagues we are working everyday to operate maintain and improve the plant in an efficient and safe manner.

We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join the Renewable Products Refining Technical department in Rotterdam (Maasvlakte).


Your part in Neste journey

As a Senior Process Engineer you will report to the Process Engineering Supervisor and work closely with the other Process Engineers within the team. You will also work closely with the Operations and Maintenance departments. As a Senior Process Engineer you will be responsible for an assigned area of the Refinery Operations. You will be focusing on the mid to long term unit operations (7 days to 1 year) and are the first line of support to Operations with day to day unit monitoring to ensure compliant safe reliable and efficient operations.


Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Technical expert of technology assigned unit;
  • Identify deviations and provide pragmatic solutions in line with guidelines;
  • Ensure to operate assigned unit within environmental boundaries;
  • Unit performance monitoring related to compliance and process safety;
  • Unit performance monitoring related to efficiency (i.e. energy variable costs and OEE);
  • Initiate and develop improvement ideas in a systematic manner;
  • Shut-down/Start-up support during planned and unplanned events;
  • Reviewer of operational shut-down/ start-up instructions.


Keys to success in this role

The best combination of experiences skills and background is:

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering discipline;
  • You are an experienced Process Engineer with at least five years of relevant work experience in petrochemical and/or industrial production;
  • Strong and effective stakeholder management and communication;
  • Effective communication skills in English (mandatory) both verbally and in writing. Preferably command of the Dutch language;
  • Experience in Renewable Processes is an advantage.
