You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Multimedia Resource Technician will implement and maintain a statewide lending library of specialized media resources in the area of alcohol tobacco and other drugs and topics related to substance use disorder prevention. The Idaho RADAR Center is open to the public from 9am-4pm Tuesdays and Wednesday. The Multimedia Resource Technician is a part-time position and will be expected to work these hours.
This is a temporary non-benefit eligible part-time position (14/hr-week).
The Idaho Regional Alcohol Drug Awareness Resource (RADAR) Center is a substance use disorders prevention treatment and recovery information clearinghouse.
The Center is a Boise State University program and is administered by the Institute for the Study of Behavioral Health and Addiction a partnership between the College of Education and the College of Health Sciences. Center operation relies on sponsors.
Applies skills and job knowledge in area of specialization; may adapt procedures operations techniques tools materials and/or equipment to meet needs of area of specialization; may work on non-routine tasks; resolves issues/makes working decisions within area of specialization or responsibility with minimal supervision.
Data Entry/ Administrative Support
Assist with report preparation web site submissions and material updates
Use professional business writing skills to communicate electronically and prepare information sheets
Troubleshoot/manage operations of the Center when the director is out of the office
Execute policies and review established policies on at least an annual basis for any updates or revisions
Assist in training directing and evaluating the work of student workers in regard to the operation of the Center
Assist in developing and making recommendations for general office policies and procedures
Recommend equipment and supply acquisitions to the director
Patron Services
Analyze needs of patrons to acquire and provide appropriate media and print resources
Promote the Centers video lending and distribution services
Support exhibit preparations and staffing for local/regional/statewide conferences and training events
Identify potential problems (schedule conflicts delayed returns) and seek resolution with the approval of the director
Communication
Confer with vendors and sales representatives to discuss new products and resolve problems
Understand implement and maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding patrons use of the centers materials
Utilize email personal communication and shared calendar to communicate schedule patron requests and information other staff need to know
Maintain positive patron relationships and professional image
Other Duties as assigned
Some knowledge of: supervisory practices and data management.
Experience: conducting sensitive fact finding interviews; storing retrieving and compiling information in a report format using database software and using spreadsheet software.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation leadership technique and coordination of people and resources; data management; ability to communicate and convey information effectively; ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relations with others.
Experience: monitoring record systems to identify and correct errors; interpreting explaining and applying laws regulations and complex policies for multiple or highly specialized programs; analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues; dealing with individuals from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in stressful situations; entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system; composing and proofreading business correspondence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a Human Services field
Certified Prevention Specialist Certification (CPS)
Advanced competence of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications
Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system
Preferred familiarity with WordPress website development basic HTML and other web-related skills
