Position based at Waltham Christchurch (1 Position Available)
Permanent Full-time Position 24/7 Rotating Roster(Including Penal Rates)
Starting hourly rate between $36.38 - $42.20 (Based on Qualifications & Experience)

Based at our Waltham depot in Christchurch youll work hands-on with our locomotive fleet ensuring theyre safe reliable and ready for action.
Whether its routine maintenance or responding to the unexpected youll be a key part of keeping our network on track.
This is a permanent full-time role on a 24/7 rotating roster including penal rates!
In this role you will:
Carry out scheduled maintenance and mechanical repairs on locomotives
Identify and diagnose faults then work collaboratively to resolve them
Perform safety checks and assist operators with equipment
Maintain clear service records and follow all safety procedures
Support yard operations including operation of rail vehicles
Starting hourly rate: $36.38 - $42.20 based on your qualifications and experience.

Were after someone mechanically minded and committed to safety.
You will bring:
Experience in heavy industry automotive engineering
A strong focus on safety problem-solving and quality outcomes
A team-oriented approach and adaptability to changing priorities
A full Class 1 driver licence
Relevant Trade Qualifications or Certifications
Its a bonus if you also have:
Diesel or Automotive Mechanic Experienced (Desirable)
Automotive Electrical Experienced (Desirable)
Welding certification (AS/NZS 2980 or ISO 9606.1)
A Level 4-5NZQA trade certificate in mechanical fitting or a related field
F endorsement on your NZ driver licence
Gantry crane unit standards (US 30072 and 3800)
