Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-track Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (several posts) in the Department of Mathematics (Ref.: 532719). Appointments will initially be made on a three-year fixed-term basis commencing as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract subject to satisfactory performance. Exceptionally outstanding candidates at Professor/Associate Professor level may be considered for appointment on tenure terms subject to the Universitys approval.
The Department of Mathematics is committed to providing rigorous and comprehensive undergraduate education fostering graduate research among students with strong mathematical aptitude and advancing teaching and research with the goal of achieving international excellence. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or a related field. The Department welcomes candidates from all areas of mathematics with particular interest in those whose research enhances or complements existing strengths. Appointees will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching supervise graduate students conduct high-quality research and participate in administrative duties at both the Departmental and Faculty levels. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered in addition to annual leave professional leave and medical benefits. At current rates salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable. A start-up package tailored to the appointees experience and research needs will be provided.
