Job Description

Description

To carry out intraoperative monitoring of EEG or EMG and Evoked Potentials during surgical procedures assisting the surgeon in prevention of neurological deficits. To perform routine procedures in the Clinic or hospital EEG EMG or EP laboratories when not in the operating room.



Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED. Graduate of an accredited institution for neurodiagnostic technology or 2 years equivalent neurodiagnostic tech experience. Associates degree in routine diagnostic testing is preferred. Computer skills required. Ability to work independently and shows proficiency in troubleshooting. Within two years of employment specific certification through ABRET - Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (R. EEG T. R. EP T. CNIM CLTM and CAP); American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM; CNCT) and/or American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET; .T.) is required in the laboratory of hire. Must have current certification in Basic Life Support. Those hired into this job description prior to year 2013 will not be impacted by the lab specific certification requirement. The Certification Examination in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring is strongly encouraged.
