About the role:
Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division is seeking a Smart Factory COE & Lean Manager who will be responsible for guiding a cross functional global team to develop and deploy smart manufacturing solutions across Reman facilities.

This role will lead through a unified strategy to accelerate digitalization visualization automation and Lean while delivering rapid replication of best practices through cross-facility synergies.

Job responsibilities will Include but are not limited to:

  • Focused on accelerating the deployment and transformation of Smart Factory solutions across our Reman facilities.
  • Focused on accelerating lean initiatives within Reman expanding upon our culture of continuous improvement.
  • Managing the planning documentation implementation support and maintenance of manufacturing processes procedures machinery and tooling to improve efficiency cost effectiveness quality and safety.
  • Researching process performance data to identify and implement process changes that improve yield runtime quality safety and cost-effectiveness.
  • Managing the activities and resources for manufacturing engineers process design and support personnel.
  • Providing on-going support for manufacturing problems and deficiencies; troubleshoots technically challenging production problems.

Skills you have:

  • Operational Functions: Extensive knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Collaborating: Extensive knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Continuous Transformation: Working knowledge of evolving the business to remain competitive; ability to understand adapt oneself to respond to and proactively seek changes and innovation in the business environment to improve the competitive advantage of an organization.
  • Organizational Leadership: Working knowledge of leadership concepts and ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting embracing and achieving objectives.
  • Influencing Through Expertise: Working knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
  • Project Management: Extensive knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan organize monitor and control projects ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Capacity Planning & Management - MFG: Extensive knowledge of tools approaches and practices for determining production demand and ability to manage resources needed to provide satisfactory levels of service.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Expert level knowledge of the philosophy principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
  • Experience in Factory Operations

Additional Information:

  • Relocation assistance is available for this role.
  • This role is located in Mossville Illinois.
  • 25-50% travel will be required for this position.

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
