Job Summary
For our client Trek in Harderwijk we are currently looking for aFinancial Analyst. As a Financial Analyst you will get the opportunity to obtain a good understanding of our business and an excellent start to a professional journey in the bicycle industry.
This role will make a major impact on Treks business across The Benelux. You will develop & deliver optimal processes great analytics and storytelling and ultimately increased profitability through better understanding and robust this role youre part of our central finance team and directly report to the Benelux Controllerwho reports directly to the CFO in the UK.
You will take on a variety of financial & reporting tasks that are related to our Benelux Sales organization.
Key Accountabilities

- Monthly close activities for the Benelux organization
- Timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Strong relationship with the external accountants
- Support the annual budgeting and monthly reforecasting process with analysis and insight
- Supporting Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) developments and process improvement projects
2. Compliance
- Continuous focus on process improvement
- Ensure accounting policies meet the requirements of Dutch Belgian and US gaap
- Expert in VAT Intrastat and other regulatory processes for The Netherlands and Belgium
- Periodic CBS reporting (Dutch central office of statistics)
- Facilitate insightful monthly or quarterly meetings with adhoc analysis as required
- WKR management
3. Control
- Improve VAT Intrastat and other regulatory reporting processes
- Internal control compliance and drive for improvement
- Train non-financial staff on company financial procedures
4. Business partnering
- Provide tools to support profit growth
- At least 2 years experience
- Provide our Benelux organization with analytical support and business cases
- Understand & monitor the business KPIs supporting the Benelux Sales organization in driving improvements
- Work close together with the local controller and the Benelux General Manager
- To become the expert in our own POS system (Ascend) from a financial perspective and work closely with our Ascend Manager to support our Ascend Dealers
- Participate in the yearly financial & commercial meetings (Win the Season meetings) with our Dealers
- Aim to visit TREK dealers and our own stores regularly; some travel required
- Continuous awareness for potential cost reductions in the operations
Ideal candidate:
- Bachelor degree in accounting or finance
- Strong knowledge of Dutch VAT processes
- Knowledge of Belgian VAT and other regulatory processes preferred
- Advanced spreadsheet skills; an assessment is part of the procedure
- Familiarity with international businesses operating on ERP systems; JDE experience is preferred
- Good understanding of internal control and financial reporting
- Flexible accurate and strong analytical skills with strong influencing skills
- Strong written/verbal communications skills in Dutch & English
- Hands-on approach
- A great team player who enjoys communicating with colleagues in an informal way.
- Living near Harderwijk (max. 30 km) or willing to relocate willing to work in Wijchen when necessary
