ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY STUDENT UNION
The University Student Union as the heart of campus uplifts and empowers students to achieve educational personal and professional goals by providing leadership development meaningful employment and innovative programs services and facilities. We promote equity inclusion and well-being while encouraging social justice advocacy to help Matadors feel heard respected and connected to CSUN. Our facilities include a University Student Union and a 138000 square foot Student Recreation Center (SRC).The SRC is a facility for exercise and leisure activity that promotes lifelong health and wellness.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the Manager Equity Diversity & Inclusion the Equity Diversity & Inclusion Supervisor is responsible for the planning producing trouble-shooting supervision and evaluating of University Student Union (USU) diversity and inclusion programs. The position provides supervision and training for part-time student employees and volunteers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assist with training and supervising the work of part-time student assistant employees including monitoring performance; generating performance evaluations; and administering disciplinary actions as needed;
- Perform administrative assignments including but not limited to scheduling student assistant employees and monitoring time cards;
- Participate in University Student Union staff meetings activities training and development programs and professional development activities;
- Supervise the planning coordination implementation and evaluation of equity diversity and inclusion programs for the University Student Union;
- Assist with creating and overseeing content development for informational brochures bi-weekly newsletter social media posts website press releases posters/fliers and other marketing materials;
- Participate in University Student Union staff meetings activities training and development programs and professional development activities;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelors degree in an applicable field. Specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown below may be substituted for the required education on a yearforyear basis.
Experience
Professional full-time experience is not required for consideration.

Preferred Qualifications:
-One year of professional-level experience in a job-related field preferably working in higher education a college union student activities student development or diversity equity and inclusion preferred.
-Supervision experience preferred.
Knowledge Abilities and/or Skills:
- Strong oral and written English communication skills
- Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of student development
- Knowledge of and commitment to serving diverse student populations
- Knowledge of and commitment to diversity initiatives and advocacy
- Knowledge of and experience in program planning implementation and assessment
- Instruct train and supervise the work of student employees
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with student organizations campus departments and private and public agencies
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is generally performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. Must be able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines. Must be flexible with ability to adapt readily to change. Regular contact with students faculty staff administrators and the general public required.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
This position supervises student assistant employees and/or volunteers.
PAY BENEFITS AND WORK SCHEDULE:

The anticipated hiring range will be as follows and is dependent on experience and qualifications:
Hourly: $23.94 - $25.00
Bi-Weekly: $1915.38 - $2000.00
Annually: $49800.00 - $52000.00
The salary range of the position is as follows:
SALARY (TRAINEE - RANGE A):
Hourly: Minimum: $23.94 Maximum: $29.28
Bi-Weekly: Minimum: $1915.38 Maximum: $2342.77
Annually: Minimum: $49800 Maximum: $60912
SALARY (NON-TRAINEE - RANGE B):
Hourly: Minimum: $29.33 Maximum: $41.70
Bi-Weekly: Minimum: $2346 Maximum: $3336
Annually: Minimum: $60996 Maximum: $86736
