Role Overview

Hanover Dublin is looking for a Consultant (Account Manager equivalent) to support the growth of the expanding team.

As a Consultant you will have an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to develop a career in public affairs and communications. The Consultant will work alongside Hanover Groups award-winning international network of clients predominantly in the healthcare technology financial services energy and mobility sectors.

The successful candidate will be a keen networker with a passion for politics communications and possess a nuanced understanding of the relationship between business and PR. We work in a fast-paced rapidly evolving environment and our consultants are equally at home in the office at a pitch or at a networking event.

As a Consultant at Hanover you will be instrumental in providing top-tier communications and public affairs services to our valued clients. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our clients receive the highest quality of day-to-day service tailored to their unique needs and objectives. This will entail vigilant monitoring of the corporate landscape and tracking industry movements and trends while staying abreast of the latest political and policy developments to enable you to offer advice that is informed insightful and strategically sound.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality timely and insightful advice to clients across sectors with a focus on public affairs and policy.
  • Monitor political policy and media developments to identify opportunities and risks for clients.
  • Draft policy briefings parliamentary questions media materials and other communications outputs to the highest standard.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers stakeholders and journalists relevant to client priorities.
  • Manage and deliver client events including Oireachtas engagements stakeholder roundtables and press events.
  • Support new business development from research and proposal writing to contributing to pitches.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Hanovers international network to deliver integrated campaigns.
  • Ensure rigorous quality control over all outputs maintaining accuracy creativity and alignment with client objectives.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in public affairs communications or policy ideally within a consultancy government or in-house team.
  • Strong understanding of the Irish political and policy landscape.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce compelling content.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills including working with policymakers and advocacy groups.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Experience in event management and delivering stakeholder engagement programmes.
