Job Description

GED Preparation Paid Internship $18/Hour

Join Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT) and be part of our Paid Internship Program! From September to December earn your GED while gaining valuable paid work experience. Youll receive a paid stipend while completing your GED classes and training and if you place at a GED-ready level youll qualify for a 250-hour paid internship at $18/hour.

Where You Could Work:

  • Hospitals and clinics
  • Law firms
  • Construction companies
  • Small businesses and nonprofits

What Youll Do:

  • Attend GED prep classes in partnership with the NYC Department of Education
  • Participate in a paid professional internship
  • Learn workplace skills for your chosen field

What Youll Get:

  • Paid stipend during GED preparation and training
  • $18/hour for 250 internship hours once eligible
  • Job coaching case management and supportive services to help you succeed
  • College application and access support if you choose to pursue further education
  • Job placement support after completion

Eligibility:

  • Ages 1824
  • Must be available MondayFriday 9:00 AM3:00 PM
  • Must be available for the full program from September 2 2025 January 16 2025
