Maintenance Technician at Spartanburg High School

QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalent. Several years experience in general maintenance field.

REPORTS TO:ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE/BUILDING PRINCIPAL

JOB GOAL:To assist the maintenance department in developing and maintaining a safe healthy clean and positive environment in which children staff and the community attend school.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

These responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

1. Maintain and repair all kitchen equipment to include domestic water heaters and refrigeration equipment.
2. All general electrical maintenance and repair.
   1. Repair and maintain all electrical panels and switch gear.
   2. Provide electrical service for any new equipment.
   3. Keep necessary equipment properly calibrated.
   4. Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
   5. Know understand and keep current on related codes.
   6. Help in maintaining fire alarm systems.
   7. Have basic working knowledge of related control systems.
   8. Keep all equipment properly lubricated and calibrated.
   9. Inspect and repair air conditioning equipment.
   10. Inspect and repair designated heating systems.
   11. Have a working knowledge of HVAC controls.
   12. Do light welding when needed.
   13. Take care of emergencies and any other work as deemed necessary.
   14. Assist tradesmen for other departments when trade lines cross.
   15. Must be able to follow instructions both written and oral.
   16. Must be able to perform all assigned duties.
   17. Must be available for after-hours emergencies.
   18. Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Maintenance and Operations and/or Supervisor.
   19. Works with others consistently in a cooperative and respectful manner.

TERMS:Twelve months salary to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in compliance with the Boards policy on evaluation and classified personnel.
