Job Description

Custodian-Janitor

DEPARTMENT: Facilities

JOB TITLE: Custodian

REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager

TOTAL NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

PAY: $16.90 per hour

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assists the maintenance technicians when needed.
  2. Operate as needed the floor washer to keep the plant floor clean.
  3. Walks the plant property picking up trash every day.
  4. Cleans all bathrooms and bathroom floors within production and the office.
  5. Cleans all common areas like the two breakrooms for production workers.
  6. Maintains the stocking level of paper in the office rest rooms and the plant rest rooms.
  7. Must wear and use properly assigned personal protective equipment based on the job performed.
  8. Must be prepared to work elsewhere as directed by supervision.

Minimum Requirements and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.

  1. High School diploma or GED/Equivalent.
  2. Previous janitorial experience needed.
  3. Understand blood borne pathogens issues.
  4. Work environment will be dusty and result in becoming unclean.
  5. Positive safety attitude.
  6. Cardinal Employees: Zero progressive discipline in the last 6 months.
  7. Cardinal Employees: Zero attendance issues.
  8. Cardinal Employees: As applicable in determining a final rate of pay for a current employee a compensation calculation occurs accounting for length of current employment.
