GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Director of Special Projects in the Office of the CTO is a strategic and execution-focused leader responsible for driving high-impact cross-functional initiatives that align with the CTOs vision and the companys long-term technology strategy. This role serves as a trusted advisor to the CTO leading complex programs incubating new capabilities and ensuring alignment across engineering product and innovation teams.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Lead and manage strategic technology initiatives from concept to execution including emerging tech pilots innovation programs and transformation efforts.
- Act as a liaison between the CTO and internal/external stakeholders to ensure clarity alignment and momentum across special projects.
- Develop project charters roadmaps and success metrics for initiatives that span multiple departments.
- Conduct research and analysis on emerging technologies competitive trends and industry best practices to inform strategic decisions.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering product data science and operations to deliver on project goals.
- Prepare executive-level presentations reports and briefings for the CTO and senior leadership.
- Manage vendor relationships and partnerships relevant to special projects.
- Identify risks and mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 10 years of experience in technology leadership program management or strategic initiatives preferably in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
- Proven track record of leading complex cross-functional projects with measurable impact.
- Strong understanding of software development cloud infrastructure data platforms and emerging technologies (e.g. AI IoT blockchain).
- Exceptional communication stakeholder management and executive presence.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize technical and business information.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Business or related field; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSES
Professional certification may be required in some areas.
