Position Summary: The Cook will prepare meals and snacks for the custodial youth at the Youth Transition Center (YTC).

This job operates in a kitchen environment housed with equipment such as an oven stove dishwasher
slicer coffee machine steamer mixer and chefs knives. The employee is frequently exposed to heat steam fire and noise.
The kitchen is located at the Youth Transitional Center (detention center for youth) at 446 Alta Rd #6100
San Diego 92128. Employees will interact with Kitchens for Good Staff and the staff of the detention center.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to sit stand reach lift bend kneel stoop climb push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position non-exempt position scheduled at 40 hours a week. Includes weekend and evening shifts. AM shifts and PM shifts available and may vary depending on the needs of the organization.
Travel:
Employee may be expected to travel to additional locations.
