This Position reports to:
Engineering Manager - AMRIn this role you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day you will ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by acting as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completing the corresponding engineering assignments.

This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation Robotics division in Auburn Hills MI. Main stakeholders are both our internal and external customers.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Collaborating on project installation commissioning and site activities to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors.
Coaching the project engineers and designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation including modelling prototyping and calculations.
Leading supervising and coordinating teams (less than 10 members) in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects.
Applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects including modelling prototyping simulation and calculations.
Qualifications for the role
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering for Automation or Robotics solutions development.
Strong experience with 3D Modeling software: e.g. SolidWorks
Experience with 2D layout software such as AutoCAD Mechanical
Experience with PLM Software
Experience working with customer supplied CAD data and requirements
Experience with Design for Manufacturing principles and working with suppliers to manufacture designed components ensuring quality and adherence to predefined specifications
