You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Priority Coverage Team physiotherapist (PT) is an innovative position at Sunnybrook designed to provide coverage across a number of areas within acute addition to working on the Priority coverage team this PT will also support the Surgical Short Stay Unit and Post Anaesthetic Care Unit. This position allows the successful candidate to gain clinical experience across multiple programs and to develop relationships with the various interprofessional teams.
Summary of Duties:
Responsible for providing person-centred patient assessments and interventions in collaboration with the interprofessional team including recommendations for discharge and follow-up as required (i.e. home care program community or rehabilitation resources).
Participates in continuing professional development activities including the provision of clinical and educational in-services that fosters ongoing learning professionalism interprofessional collaborations and best practices in physiotherapy.
Actively participates in interprofessional team activities such as team meetings clinical rounds team huddles and quality improvement initiatives.
Participates in the supervision and education of physiotherapy students
Is an expert resource for; staff students and other health care professionals related to physiotherapy within the organization.
Participates in discipline-specific and interprofessional quality improvement activities within Physiotherapy services.
Practices in accordance with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario standards of practice.
Qualifications/Skills:
MSc(PT) or equivalent
Registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
Rostered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario for Tracheal Suctioning and Administering a Substance by Inhalation
Minimum two years of general acute care physiotherapy experience preferred
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong time-management and organization skills
Member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred
