Job Summary

The Peace River School Division is seeking applications for aFull-Time (1.00 f.t.e.) Temporary Humanities Teacher at Peace River High School . This position will commence on January 5 2026 and will continue until June 26 2026. The successful candidate will be teaching Englishand Social Studies 10-1 as well as Foods.

Peace RiverHigh School located in the Town of Peace River serves approximately 250 students in grades 9-12. Peace River Highs Regular Instructional Program includes a full range of academic core non-academic and options/complementary courses in single grade classrooms to meet the education to meet the diverse needs of students. Peace River is a town in northwest Alberta Canada. It is along the banks of the Peace River at its confluence with the Smoky River the Heart River and Pats Creek. Qualifications:

  • Experience and/or training in teaching junior and senior level grades.
  • Excellent communications skills with students staff and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and educational assistants to ensure student success.
  • Proven ability to differentiate lessons to support students achievement.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • A keen understanding of assessment practices.
  • The ability to use technology to support learning in the classroom .

Requirements:

  • Must hold or be eligible for a validAlberta Teaching Certificate.
  • Provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check dated within six (6) months of your application.

This teaching position falls under the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers Association and the Peace River School Division.

Annual Salary Range: $ 66520 to $ 112451 (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers Association and the Peace River School Division).
