About the Role: Sr Operations Specialist Fixed Income Data Management

The Team:

The role will be part of the Index Management and Production Group (IMPG) at S&P Global. The team is responsible for the production and management of a wide range of indices covering global options equities futures fixed income commodity digital assets and economics indices. This specific role will focus on Fixed Income indices ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the indices through meticulous data management research and analysis.

Responsibilities and Impact:

As a Sr. Operations Specialist you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of S&P Dow Jones and iBoxx indices. Your expertise in Data Management will be essential in researching a wide range of datasets for Fixed Income securities to then be used for index management and maintenance. Your role is key in maintaining index integrity and compliance with methodologies providing valuable insights to clients globally.

  • Manage and analyze a wide range of data sets for Fixed income securities such as security Reference data Corporate actions ESG data and others - to ensure data quality accuracy and timely delivery for index production and maintenance.
  • Conduct data quality checks implement validation and verification processes and maintain high standards of data quality.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and index managers to understand data requirements and ensure indices comply with their methodologies and objectives.
  • For complex cases provide detailed analysis of recommended data changes to the relevant index committees for review and decision making. Communicate decisions to all impacted stakeholders.

  • Define requirements conduct testing and help implement improvements to the Fixed Income Data technology toolkit to enable operational efficiencies and best practices for the data management team.
  • Onboard new data feeds and/or datasets ensuring seamless integration into existing systems.
  • Stay updated on market trends regulatory changes and other factors affecting the Fixed Income markets and ESG trends.
  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations related to Fixed income data analysis for internal and external clients.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to enquiries from clients via internal functions such as Client and Index Services.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $ 53084.00 $76500.00. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individuals geographic location as well as experience level skill set training licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What Were Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business Finance Economics Mathematics or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in fixed income ESG data management indexing or a similar financial field.
  • A foundational understanding of the fixed income market ESG trends etc.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to work with large data sets.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Basic experience with Python SQL and VBA for process automation and data analysis.
  • Experience in project management and implementing process improvements.
