Senior Medical Technologist (Renewable Contract role)
Overview This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who would like to pursue a role as a Senior Medical Technologist in a clinical laboratory in a government hospital. The role is multi-disciplinary and includes Clinical Chemistry Haematology and Blood Transfusion Services.
Job Responsibilities include:
Sample Reception
Routine operation maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment
Technical validation
Quality assurance
Inventory management
Candidates for supervisory role will be further required to manage the laboratory with roster planning coaching of junior/new staff resolve all technical queries as well as ensuring compliance with regulations from relevant accreditation bodies.
Requirements
BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent with at least 5-8 years of experience in one of the sections (hematology/ Clinical chemistry/ Blood transfusion service)
Good laboratory planning and organisational skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Good IT skills
Proactive with good leadership skills
Ability to work independently and as a team
Service-oriented and customer-focused
Flexibility to work on shifts which include weekends / public holidays
Candidates with relevant work experience may be considered for supervisory positions
