In our Sborg office we are the technology center for dryers and make complete drying plants utilizing above mentioned equipment and we also have a big innovation center where we can perform test with clients feeds to perform production tests in evaporation spray drying and crystallization.

We serve food and beverages healthcare and chemical manufacturers bringing together trusted brands and technologies to meet new consumer expectations and anticipate industry trends. Many of your household goods & favorite snacks may have been created with the help of SPX FLOW solutions.

About the Role

As a Process Engineer within our Dryers team you will play a pivotal role in the design and engineering of industrial drying plant projects around the addition to making a multitude of process engineering tasks you are often also overall technically responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of the engineering process such as layout design process design own key component engineering and coordinating with automation and documentation group thus technically ensuring a successful project execution from sales to client hand-over. Expect less than 30 travel days/year.

About Your Responsibilities

Project Leadership: Lead project engineering efforts including chairing weekly internal meetings with our team of experts.

Client Engagement: Actively participate in project meetings with our valued clients fostering strong partnerships.

Engineering Excellence: Develop and manage the engineering plan regularly updating it to reflect real-time project status. Monitor progress identify necessary actions and track project time consumption.

Pre-engineering: Prepare proposal process design and pre-engineering tasks improving existing installations and checking commercial viability of new process equipment additions to plants.

Process Design: Perform process design calculations to determine equipment capacity requirements.

Documentation: Prepare essential overview engineering documentation for basic and detailed engineering contributing to the technical file.

Equipment Specification: Create comprehensive process equipment specifications to outline functional and capacity requirements for both internal and external suppliers.

Procurement: Generate purchase requisitions for equipment and liaise with the supply chain for seamless handovers.

Automation Expertise: Produce process descriptions or functional design specifications for automation functionality.

Design Excellence: Conduct design review meetings across multiple areas.

Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement engineering enhancements to elevate our capabilities.

Effective Communication: Ensure consistent timely and efficient communication with all project stakeholders.

Self-Motivation: Embrace self-motivation independence and a proactive approach in daily operations.

What Do You Need

Comprehensive Process Engineering: Proficiency in process design and specification coupled with the ability to address various technical areas including layout mechanical and automation engineering.

Hands-On Expertise: Capable of conducting site investigations and commissioning support.

Remote Support Mastery: Proficient in delivering remote support and guidance during installation and commissioning with a wealth of prior on-site experience for practical remote assistance. Our approach prioritizes reducing on-site visits while ensuring robust remote support capabilities.

Analytical Approach: Exhibit a structured pro-active and analytical approach balancing project oversight with attention to detail.

Tech-Savvy: Strong computer skills with proficiency in standard office programs. Familiarity with SAP is nice to have.

Commitment to Growth: A strong desire to self-educate and continually elevate technical skill levels while seeking mentorship from experienced colleagues.

Education & Experience:

Proven Experience: A minimum of 5 years in the process industry as a process engineer or similar role defining process requirements to equipment and plant control preferably for spray drying plants.

Educational Background: A degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or other similar background.

Commercial Acumen: Some commercial training and a commercial mindset are advantageous.

Practical Experience: Plant site experience and practical and/or automation experience are clear advantages.

Languages: Fluency in English is must. Fluency in French or German language is a strong advantage.
