Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

RealTrucks Amazon Visual Merchandising and Marketing Director will be a cross-functional leader shaping the digital consumer experience on Amazon by overseeing all aspects of the Amazon marketing strategy visual merchandising content strategy reporting and campaign planning/execution. This results-oriented role will balance art and science to develop plan and lead seasonal optimized product storytelling that inspires consumers to choose RealTruck products. This position will require expertise to drive sales growth enhancing brand presence and optimizing the entire consumer journey on the highly competitive Amazon platform. The Director will be a key leader shaping the Amazon strategy and collaborating with cross-function teams to ensure our products achieve/maintain market share leadership and profitability goals. This role is on the Marketing Senior Leadership Team.

CORE FUNCTIONS

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Amazon marketing and visual merchandising strategy aligned with the companys overall business objectives driving profitable growth for the 1P business.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and customer preferences.
  • Oversee the development planning and content of Amazon marketing campaigns including Amazon Ads (Sponsored Products Sponsored Brands Display Ads etc.) and promotional activities.
  • Define clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for Amazon marketing and merchandising.
  • Lead the end-to-end optimization of Amazon Product Detail Pages (PDPs) including A Content titles bullet points imagery and keyword integration for new and existing ASINs ensuring compliance and best practices.

Visual Merchandising & Content Optimization:

  • Spearhead Brand Store development and merchandising strategies to improve navigation education and conversion rates aligning with brand guidelines and visual identity.
  • Manage and optimize product listings focusing on compelling content brand consistency and adherence to marketplace algorithms.
  • Conduct A/B testing and performance analysis to refine product positioning enhance conversion rates and optimize the digital shelf experience.
  • Partner with marketing creative and content teams to ensure content needs are met aligning with conversion goals and launched on time.

Operational Excellence & Analytics:

  • Collaborate with the Amazon account team on all needs related to the Amazon business acting as a cross-functional lead for the operational and commercial lifecycle.
  • Monitor and analyze key Amazon KPIs including Buy Box ownership sales velocity conversion rate Inventory Performance Index (IPI) and Glance Views making data-driven adjustments to strategies.
  • Work with Amazon Vendor Central and relevant Amazon teams (e.g. Vendor Managers) ensuring compliance with policies and best practices.
  • Identify and implement automation tools and technologies to streamline marketplace operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Manage budget and scope of work for internal teams or external agencies and service providers supporting Amazon visual merchandising content and advertising creative.
  • Monitor analyze and respond to Amazon customer reviews ratings and Q&A using insights to inform product improvements content optimization and service enhancements.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including sales product management product marketing eCommerce media and customer service to align Amazon strategy with broader business objectives.
  • May build and mentor a high-performing team fostering a culture of continuous learning innovation and data-driven decision-making.
  • Stay informed on industry trends competitor activities and new Amazon features and policies to continuously evolve strategies.

Continuous Process Improvement

  • Provide regular performance reports and insights to leadership highlighting growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes identify opportunities and scale best practices and governance.
  • Map out and document current processes to identify inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement standardized procedures for website management and optimization.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of innovation continuous improvement and process optimization.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in business or related field is required. MBA is preferred.
  • 5 years of leadership/management/supervisory experience is required including building teams from the ground up.
  • 7 years of experience in e-commerce with a strong focus on Amazon 1P (Vendor Central) management within a consumer products company. 5 years of consumer-focused ecommerce experience required.
  • 7 years of experience working in large-scale matrixed companies known for strong digital acumen required.
  • 7 years of site merchandising/marketing/product management experience required.
  • 5 years of experience in digital storytelling (brand marketing CX loyalty) required.
  • Proven knowledge of Amazon platform technology integrations including the ability to evaluate implement and optimize solutions that connect Amazon systems with internal tools data sources and third-party platforms.
  • Proven track record of driving significant sales growth and profitability on Amazon through strategic marketing and merchandising efforts.
  • Deep expertise in Amazon advertising suite (Sponsored Products Sponsored Brands Display Ads) SEO A Content and Brand Store development.

Skills Abilities and Knowledge

  • Strong consumer obsession focused on building the right website experiences/journeys for our customers.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data identify trends and translate insights into actionable strategies and optimizations.
  • Proficiency in Amazon Vendor Central and e-commerce analytics tools (e.g. Profitero Salsify Amazon Brand Analytics etc.).
  • Ability to stay current on and to articulate industry technology trends and their relevance to the evolution of our vision strategy and roadmap.
  • Proven track record of success in leading teams driving innovation and delivering results.
  • Deep hands-on technical expertise in site merchandising.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Assertive adaptable and demonstrates initiative in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of unpaid and paid digital channels including SEO CRM and Affiliates.
  • Analytical and process-oriented comfortable making data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to set clear team objectives and performance measures.
  • Ability to select and develop a team of future leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team and willingness to take on responsibilities outside primary job description when necessary.

Travel

This position requires light to moderate travel.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Working team member who coordinates supports trains and is a knowledge resource for other team members. No direct reports or supervisory responsibility.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is subject to Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
