Smoke Shop Assistant Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the General Manager the Assistant Manager assists the general manager in his day to day duties supervises employees and report activities of the day to the manager. The incumbent will become knowledgeable with Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma Employees Manual and other pertinent policies laws or regulations concerning the sale of tobacco and Tribal Sovereignty.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare orders for products

Prepare employee work schedule.

Assists the Gen. Manager in recruiting and interviewing quality people to staff the location.

Trains new hires to fulfill the cashier duties.

Communicate with employees regarding work issues.

Operate a POS cash register credit card machine product scanner when covering a shift

Reviews and verifies cashier shift reports for accuracy.

Prepare transaction report and send to the accounting department.

Prepare daily report and match up deposit slips with shift reports.

Held accountable to the highest degree for the accuracy and thoroughness of property records and reports.

Prepare monthly coupon report and prepare coupons for return to distribution center for a refund.

Enter Report data regarding Vending Machine when needed.

Service vending machine when necessary.

Assist the Manager in performing monthly inventory after close.

Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises directly and/or indirectly the activities of all Associates in the Cimarron Smoke Shop Department. Must be available by phone days nights and weekends. Held accountable to the highest degree for the accuracy and thoroughness of property records and reports.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE An Associates Degree or equivalent thereof or four to six years related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must also be proficient in Microsoft Office. Native American Preference.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read analyze and interpret the most complex of documents such as technical journals financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physically able to stand / walk on your feet up to 8 hours reaching over your head bending squatting and lifting up to 25 lbs.
