The Public Works Superintendent is responsible for planning organizing supervising and coordinating the daily operations of the Public Works Department including streets drainage facilities traffic fleet maintenance and other municipal infrastructure services. This position ensures safe efficient and cost-effective delivery of public works services while maintaining compliance with all applicable local state and federal regulations.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING (Certification/Licensure): The preferred way to obtain the minimum knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position are listed below. The City reserves the right to allow substitutions in the event that a candidate or incumbent exceeds requirements in one area but may be deficient in another.
Education / Related Work Experience:
Bachelors Degree and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience related to area of assignment including prior lead or supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts electrical currents vibrations fumes odors dusts gases poor ventilation chemicals oils extreme temperatures inadequate lighting intense noises and travel.
