Role Overview:
Aeva is seeking to hire a talented and motivated Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer to join our EE Hardware Development Team. The EE HW team owns the design build and bring-up of Aevas mixed-signal PCBs. As a V&V Hardware Engineer you will be expected to perform a wide range of tasks in PCBA or sub-circuit bringup characterization verification and validation.
What youll be doing:
Work closely with EE design engineers and other engineering teams to examine the individual PCBs their function and interconnections
Simulation & hands-on characterization of a circuit sub-circuit PCBA or system and articulating feedback in formal or informal design reviews.
Partner with design leads to perform a variety of design verification & validation tasks
May engage with CMs or internal Manufacturing teams to ensure smooth roll-out in an NPI function
Support EE team in backend design support including RMA FA and Customer interfacing
What you have:
BS or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
1-4 years experience in the Electrical Hardware / product space with robust hands-on lab experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good understanding of HW components their interfaces and SW controls
Good understanding of debug and probing techniques for a variety communication protocols (I2C SPI UART Ethernet PCIE etc)
Understanding of PCB design fundamentals & technical tradeoffs
Be an active team member working closely with other EE design engineers and other groups
Ability to analyze a design component data sheet user guide or schematic to make insightful decisions
Prior experience with Python / MATLAB for test automation and data visualization
Experience in motor control and/or RF/analog design is a plus
A big plus if you have experience in the automotive or Lidar industry
$132400 - $179200 a year
Salary pay ranges are determined by role level and location. Within the range the successful candidates starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills experience certifications qualifications relevant education or training and market conditions. These ranges are subject to change in the future.
