Patient Population: Cardiovascular surgery mechanical circulatory support (MCS) cardiac critical care
Average Daily Census: 17 patients
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1 or 1:2
Unit Goals: Multidisciplinary intensivist-led care focused on high-quality post-op surgical and MCS patient management
We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse with a strong background in open-heart surgery recovery and mechanical circulatory support management. The ideal candidate will have experience in critical care settings and be proficient in managing complex cardiovascular patients including those with Impella IABP ECMO Durable LVAD devices and post-cardiotomy recovery.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage ventilators and perform hemodynamic monitoring
Titrate vasoactive drips and manage Impella & IABP devices
Lead RN role in ECMO management
Conduct continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
Perform critical care assessments including intake/output vital signs and infection prevention
Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent care to cardiovascular and cardiogenic shock patients
Valid RN State License
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently
Strong attention to infection prevention and quality metrics (e.g. CAUTI CLABSI skin breakdown fall prevention)
Minimum 3 years of Cardiovascular ICU experience with strong open-heart surgery recovery skills
Experience with Mechanical Circulatory Support devices: Impella IABP ECMO (RN-led preferred) Durable LVAD
Graduate of a state-approved nursing program (diploma or degree)
Full-time
