Job Title: Schematic / Harness Design Engineer
Location: Laval QC Canada Onsite
Position Overview: Schematic / Harness Design Engineer to support electrical system development for heavy equipment. This role involves creating and maintaining wiring schematics and harness designs using industry-standard tools such as
Creo. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical design routing and integration in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop electrical schematics and wire harnesses for Caterpillar machines.
- Use Creo or other CAD tools to create and update harness drawings and 3D routing.
- Collaborate with mechanical electrical and systems engineering teams to ensure proper integration of wiring systems.
- Support prototype build testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Manage engineering change orders (ECOs) and maintain accurate documentation in PLM systems.
- Ensure compliance with Caterpillar standards and industry regulations.
- Provide support to manufacturing and service teams regarding harness installation and diagnostics.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in wire harness design and electrical schematic development.
- Proficiency in Creo or similar CAD tools for harness routing and design.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems connectors and routing best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in heavy equipment or automotive industries.
- Knowledge of industry standards (SAE ISO) for electrical systems.
- Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering documentation practices.
