Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician - (Days)
Facility: Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital
Job Type: Permanent Full-Time
Shift/Schedule: 8-Hour Days Shifts (11:00 AM 7:00 PM) 5 shifts per week
Salary Range: $19- $27 Per Hour

Position Summary
As a Sterile Processing Technician II you will play a critical role in ensuring patient safety by properly cleaning sterilizing processing and distributing medical instruments and addition to technical responsibilities you may also mentor and provide training to Sterile Processing Technician I staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize instruments equipment treatment trays and supplies.
- Clean and disinfect instruments using approved detergents and solutions.
- Operate sterilization equipment in accordance with safety and manufacturer guidelines.
- Manage inventory including ordering replenishing and distributing sterile instruments and equipment.
- Adhere to infection control safety and environmental standards.
- Mentor and train entry-level sterile processing staff.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of sterile processing experience.
- Certification (one required):
- Certified Board Sterile Processing & Distribution (CBSPD) or
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or
- Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
- Other Requirements: All certifications must be AHA-approved.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques equipment handling and infection control procedures.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow protocols with accuracy and attention to detail.
