Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Pkenga - Lecturer in Landscape Architecture on a permanent full-time basis. Te Kura Waihanga - School of Architecture is a vibrant multi-disciplinary School that now seeks an energetic enthusiastic and talented colleague to play a key role teaching in our Landscape Architecture programme.
Accredited by the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects the programme is committed to the creative planning and design of resilient landscapes through teaching research and service. It integrates the study of landscape architecture design theory and practice with urban and regional planning architecture and environmental science.
Key responsibilities:

You must demonstrate expertise in teaching and practice; exhibit innovation in design or design-related teaching; understand the degree content and curriculum structure in our professional degree and show strong promise of making significant contributions to the advancement of contemporary landscape architecture design practice. You should be an open and collegial contributor to the development of the Landscape programme as it evolves within the era of global warming sea level rise and biodiversity loss.
Te Herenga Waka landscape architecture programme has a commitment to Mtauranga Mori. Therefore candidates should be able to demonstrate competence in Mori knowledge systems as they apply to the environment. You should have a disciplinary background in landscape architecture ideally with the ability to teach and research across other disciplines (architecture interior architecture construction urban planning) in the School. A demonstrable expertise in teaching and strong research abilities are important for this role. A Registered Landscape Architect is preferred but not essential.
