The Opportunity:

Wilmington Paper is seeking a full-time Forklift Operator to join our growing facility in West Monroe LA. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for operating a forklift or skid steer in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining the production floor to maximize safe production.

This position will support equipment operations during a work shift and you must be able to work rotating 8-hour shifts with occasional extended or weekend hours REQUIRED. (Shift times are 6 am to 2 pm 2pm to 10 pm & 10 pm to 6 am). Shifts rotate every two weeks.

This position will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:

Perform pre and post trip inspections ofequipment
Safely Load/unload material from trailers
Ensure correct quality of material that ishandled
Ensure accuracy and recording ofweights
Implementing all plant safety procedures (e.g. use gladhand locks when entering trailers)
General planthousekeeping
Report equipment issues to supervisor/maintenance staff

What you need to succeed:

High School Diploma or GED OR equivalent required
2 years experience operating a skid steer and/or forklift preferably in an industrial or Recycling facility
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
A valid drivers license preferred.

Required Skills & Competencies:

The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas:

Good customer service skills to meet and exceed customer expectations
Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Acts in a professional courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers
Works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness
Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner
Ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise
Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules
Promotes and upholds the Companys safety standards
Ability to operate equipment properly and safely.
Strict adherence to OSHA and company policies.
Ability to demonstrate proficient operation of forklift and skid steer at the time of interview
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
