George Fox Universitys Athletic Department is seeking a driven and innovative individual to serve as our Assistant Director of Sports Information.
About the Job:
The Assistant Director of Sports Information will support the Athletic Department Administration in promoting and marketing the Universitys Athletics programs continually assisting in the operation of a department that sponsors 21 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III varsity sports and two emerging sports.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting and overseeing game-day operations by assisting with live statistics public address announcing scoreboard operations ticketing and media coordination for home athletic events.
- Managing and mentoring a student staff team responsible for statistics ticket sales graphics storytelling and other game-day responsibilities.
- Managing and updating the athletics website ensuring accurate schedules rosters results and feature stories are posted in a timely manner.
- Creating and distributing content for the athletics website social media channels and press releases to promote teams student-athletes and departmental initiatives.
- Assisting with statistical tracking and reporting in compliance with NCAA conference and university requirements and contributing to publications such as game programs media guides and highlight features.
- Communicating effectively and courteously with others including employees students and the public in a spirit of teamwork respect and customer service.
- By actions words and lifestyle be a Christian role model to students whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect appreciation and humility.

Were looking for candidates who have:
- A Bachelors Degree in Journalism Sports Management Marketing or Communications; a Masters degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of Sports Information Marketing or Sport Management experience (in a small college or university setting is preferred).
- Excellent event management organizational and writing skills.
- Specialized knowledge skills and abilities: Desktop publishing skills related to producing publications are required. The ability to use Microsoft Word Excel Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop Illustrator and Stat Crew.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English orally and in writing including on the telephone and to understand and follow instructions.

- A Masters degree in Journalism sports management marketing or communications.
- Experience working in collegiate athletics.
Job information:
- Hours Per Week: 40 hours (1.0 FTE)
- Position requires irregular office hours including after-hours and weekend work to attend competitions practices and university events.
- Primary Work Location: Newberg Campus
- Out-of-town travel required to support and promote the department.
- Working Conditions: Physical requirements are those of normal office conditions with some outside work consistent with game management responsibilities.
