The Job:
As a Transportation Manager youll be part of our Fort Mill Distribution Center team working as an on-site employee. This role ensures the efficient safe and cost-effective movement of goods to and from the facility manages carrier relationships and leads a team of transportation staff to meet service and budget objectives.
Youll get to:
- Lead the development and execution of innovative transportation strategies to maximize delivery efficiency and minimize costs
- Proactively monitor and analyze key performance indicators including financial metrics productivity levels service quality and operational objectivesto drive continuous improvement and achieve effective departmental cost management.
- Effectively leads and manages activities of the Logistics Planning team keeping them informed focused and motivated.
- Responsible for designing implementing and evaluating improved processes and operational polices recommending changes to fulfill the customers requirements.
- Coordinates activities with all internal and external customers (operations team purchasing buyer/planners suppliers vendors etc.) to obtain optimum business proficiency.
- Executes a variety of administrative functions to ensure the efficient operation of the department including compiling maintaining and retrieving data for timely and accurate report generation.
- Conducts training and ensures adherence to company governmental and customer policies procedures and regulations.
- Manages the export process and is responsible for developing and enforcing standard operating procedures to comply with U.S and foreign regulations
The Person:

- Bachelors degree and a minimum of 5 years of Transportation and Logistics experience required
- Demonstrated knowledge of logistics and production planning principles with hands-on experience in warehouse distribution or manufacturing operations.
- Proficient in computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Access and Teams) SAP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong proven leadership mentoring and coaching skills
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
