Job Summary:

We are looking for a strategic customer-obsessed and highly collaborative Senior Director of Product Marketing to direct our go-to-market efforts across Rakuten Rewards. This person will play a critical role in shaping how we position our products differentiate in a crowded landscape and drive adoption across key consumer segments. You will partner closely with Product Brand Growth Marketing and Analytics teams to drive product strategy feature adoption and user engagement. This role reports to the CMO of Rakuten Rewards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve the positioning and value proposition of Rakuten Rewards core offerings (cashback browser extension app in-store travel gift cards etc.)
  • Develop messaging frameworks that resonate with both consumers and retail partners across different lifecycle stages and demographics
  • Ensure a consistent brand and product narrative across all channels
  • Drive cross-functional GTM launches for new features partner integrations and seasonal campaigns
  • Collaborate with Product Design and Growth teams to define launch goals timelines success metrics and post-launch retrospectives
  • Drive adoption usage and retention through campaigns that align with key consumer behaviors and retail moments
  • Conduct and synthesize competitive analysis market trends and consumer research to inform product strategy
  • Translate insights into actionable marketing strategies that improve feature awareness and engagement
  • Align internal stakeholders across Marketing Product Sales and Partnerships around messaging and GTM priorities
  • Mentor and manage a team of product marketers
  • Define success metrics for product marketing initiatives and continuously test and iterate
  • Leverage data and experimentation to improve feature adoption customer understanding and campaign effectiveness

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of launching and scaling consumer-facing digital products (e-commerce rewards fintech or app-based platforms strongly preferred)
  • Expertise in performance-driven loyalty-focused or affiliate business models is a strong plus
  • Deep understanding of customer segmentation behavior psychology and growth marketing principles
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skillsboth written and verbal
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using customer data research and A/B testing to inform strategy
  • Comfortable navigating a fast-paced cross-functional and high-stakes environment
  • Passion for empowering customers to make smarter more rewarding choices
  • Ability to roll up sleeves and get into the work while leading a team


Minimum Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience in product marketing 2 years in leadership roles
  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • Masters Degree Preferred

Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors including the skills qualifications and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus health vision dental insurance 401k matching PTO Volunteer Time Off (VTO) and other employee benefits as the company implements.
