TRADE COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST

What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. As a Trade Compliance Specialist you will be responsible for the integration policy and executional activities related to imports and exports across the entire Amgen organization. You will provide oversight for established Trade Compliance controls and ensure adherence to global standards for regional successful candidate will join the Global Trade & Customs Excellence (GTE) team which manages operational Trade Compliance activities within Amgens Global Distribution function.

Responsibilities

  • Management of operational import and export activities ensuring compliance with Amgens Trade Compliance policies as well as relevant customs and trade sanctions regulations.

  • Provide Trade Compliance guidance and support to key stakeholders.

  • Act as escalation point of contact to support operational trade activities within the Global Trade & Customs Excellence team.

  • Monitor analyze and interpret government regulations as they relate to customs and export control regulations.

  • Support Customs related audits and inspections

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support corporate planning initiatives and provide Trade Compliance support.

  • Export control management and support with obtaining applicable export permits and licenses.

  • Interact with Customs and third parties to resolve customs issues and delays.

  • Collect and report on key transactional performance metrics.

  • Provide oversight and performance management of outsourced brokerage services.

  • Provide oversight of Customs Warehouse activities & Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification.

  • Support the establishment documentation and periodic update of Trade Compliance processes and procedures.

  • Degree educated with minimum of 4 years of Trade Compliance experience

  • EU Customs certificationis a plus

  • Knowledge of International Customs and World Trade Organization Regulations and key customs processes including valuation commodity classification country of origin determination.

  • Experience in EU customs procedures and other complex customs matters.

  • Strong relationship-building and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Continuous improvement mindset.

  • Ability to leverage relationships with industry peers for benchmarking and best practices.

  • Ability to effectively navigate through ambiguity to resolve issues.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge and understanding of GMP regulations and GDP requirements.

  • Self-starter capable of handling multiple projects.

  • Experience or education in international trade law.

  • Initiator with analytical problem solving and decision-making skills.
