Job Description: GIS Enterprise Web Solutions Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Enterprise Web Solutions Specialistto design develop and manage web-based geospatial applications and enterprise GIS systems. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in GIS web design and application development to deliver innovative user-friendly and secure geospatial solutions that meet mission and stakeholder requirements outlined in the RFQ.The GIS Enterprise Web Solutions Specialist will play a key role in building and maintaining enterprise GIS web applications supporting geospatial data management and ensuring system performance security and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain web-based GIS applications using Esri ArcGIS Enterprise ArcGIS Online and related technologies.
- Create interactive dashboards story maps and data visualization tools for diverse end users.
- Administer GIS servers databases and applications to ensure availability reliability and security.
- Integrate geospatial applications with enterprise IT systems and cloud-based services.
- Implement user-centered design principles to improve usability and accessibility of GIS applications.
- Support metadata development documentation and quality assurance for GIS web services and applications.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance GIS web capabilities.
- Provide user training outreach and technical support to maximize adoption and effectiveness of GIS web applications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in GIS Computer Science Web Design/Development or related field (Masters preferred).
- 6 years of professional experience in GIS web application design development and administration.
- 10 years of experience required without a degree.
- Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise ArcGIS Online and web mapping APIs (JavaScript Python REST).
- Experience administering GIS servers web services and spatial databases (PostGIS SQL Server Oracle).
- Strong skills in web design including HTML CSS JavaScript and responsive frameworks.
- Experience with cloud and hybrid environments (AWS Azure).
- Excellent communication collaboration and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with federal agencies (DHS DoD USGS NGA or similar).
- Knowledge of federal geospatial standards and accessibility requirements.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker Kubernetes).
- Experience developing secure applications in compliance with cybersecurity standards (RMF FedRAMP).
- Relevant technical certifications (Esri AWS Azure web development).
