So as we shape a more resourceful less wasteful world we build our careers are looking for Welding Engineer to our Qingdao Marine site of Business Unit Heat & Gas systems (BU HGS). As a Welding Engineer you are working in our Engineering & Supply organization and you are part of Mechanical Engineering team. You give welding support and knowledge for E&S in service & capital sales order execution and for R&D in product development & design. You work in close contact with our E&S R&D and Service organizations in Europe / Asia and Qingdao Factory in China.
To succeed in this position you have several years engineer background and experience from mechanical engineering marine engineering production or welding engineering. You have International Welding Engineer (IWE) education. You have good organizing co-ordination and communication skills. We appreciate experience from manufacturing industry and especially from boilers and pressure vessels. You are cooperative and able to communicate in fluent English.
About the job:
- Support your colleagues in BU HGS in their daily work regarding welding materials and subjects connected to these
- Secure that the welding documentation is up to date and approved by classification companies according to business needs
- Participate in the tasks such as welding method specification strength calculation design of steel parts for repair discussions with classification societies etc.
- Main contact in BU HGS for welding related topics
- Support in cases (warranty or repair) where third party investigation is needed to define reasons for damages
- Strengthen cooperation between Qingdao Factory organization work in close co-operation with welding team in factory and utilize factory welding knowledge for BU HGS.
- Prepare organize and complete new WPQRs/WPSs for repair
- Support and develop Welding Management System for BU HGS regarding WPSWPQR welders certificates material certificates welding consumable certificates
- Support to have welder certificates up to date and renewed when needed
- Support and participate in developing new products
- Support to the Test Center in Aalborg Denmark.
You will know:
- Experience from mechanical engineering marine engineering production or welding engineering
- Experience from manufacturing industry.
- Your educational background (./.) from technical side
- International Welding Engineer (IWE) education
- Knowledge and experience to prepare WPQR & WPS documentation for welding coordination and welders certification
- You are open and you have good communication skills
- You are active systematic and structured in your work.
- You are team player and you have ability to co-ordinate between different stakeholders.
- You are flexible and positive to changes
- You drive for results and improvement
- Good English skill both oral and written.
We appreciate
- Experience and knowledge from boiler and pressure vessel manufacturing industry
- Experience and knowledge from marine / shipbuilding industry
- Experience of welding engineer position
