Job Description
The main purpose of the role is to produce basic pattern designs utilizing CAD tools. Prepare detailed drawings using software tools. Ensure that drawings incorporate all design features and maintain the project requirements. Contribute design modifications to improve the quality and function of the design.
The Electrical Designer is a person passionate about the BIM process and supports the Electrical Engineers across within the Americas EDO Group (Engineering Design Organisation). The ideal candidate will have experience in MEP projects including system modelling. The work will involve both small and large-scale multi discipline projects. This person will be responsible for updating models modelling and annotating Electrical and general graphics and data management for their designated models.
Responsibilities
- Utilize Revit authoring tools to assist on project work modeling and detailing to prepare drawings and visual aids
- Collect data and other information for construction documents
- Prepare project design and construction documents
- Complete Construction Documents for Electrical from beginning to end in Revit
Education
- 2-5 years of experience producing electrical construction documents using Revit.
- Advanced level of English
- Experience in lighting systems design including light level modelling is an asset
- Experience in fire alarm systems design in an asset
- Experience in power distribution systems and building electrical systems design is an asset
Experience
- Knowledge of producing industry standard work products (e.g. construction drawings)
- Skilled at using Revit and BIM 360/ACC
- Ability to work as part of a large team and coordinate with peers across disciplines to meet deadlines and milestones while ensuring own team is adhering to delivery standards
- Ability to take accountability for schedule budgets and quality of deliverables
- Skilled at using Navisworks
- Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint Teams) along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
- Skilled at active listening giving full attention to what other people are saying taking time to understand the points being made asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
