Job Description

Teach Art Therapy courses as needed during the academic year.

Education: Masters degree in Art Therapy Counseling Psychology or a closely related field required. A terminal degree and/or ATR-BC/licensure is preferred.

Experience: Professional experience in art therapy or related clinical practice required. Teaching experience particularly at the university level is preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Blackboard or Canvas (or comparable LMS) and familiarity with digital tools relevant to teaching.

  • Technologically adept and comfortable integrating media into instruction.

  • Self-motivated reliable and responsible.

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adapt curriculum for Art Therapy courses as needed.

  • Create and evaluate assignments in a timely fashion providing constructive feedback.

  • Attend department orientations and trainings as required.

  • Support students in connecting studio practice with therapeutic theory and application.

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Department Chair.
