Position Summary


The Trading Associate plays a pivotal role in facilitating and implementing the Firms investment recommendations across more than $25 billion in assets. A key member of the Investment Team this individual will work closely with Portfolio Managers and collaborate with Financial Advisors to help clients achieve their financial addition to supporting day-to-day trading operations the Analyst/Associate will have the opportunity to grow within the Investment Department with potential career paths into portfolio management investment research or client advisory roles.


Job Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary trader for the Firms mutual fund and exchange-traded equity securities through the Firms primary custodial relationships (Charles Schwab Fidelity Pershing).
  • Gain a strong understanding of the Firms portfolio rebalancing software and investment guidelines to better streamline trading and portfolio management operations.
  • Act as trading service support liaison between investment advisors and custodians.
  • Assist fixed income trader with post-trade bond allocation/reconciliation.
  • Operational duties including but not limited to new account setup in trading and rebalancing system fund transfers resolution of cost basis and other account related issues as they occur.
  • Complete special projects as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university (required) with a focus in Finance or Investments (preferred).
  • Minimum of one to two years of experience in the industry with a focus on operations and trading.
  • Series 65 license or equivalent or must obtain with three months of hire.
  • A passion for learning about financial markets finance theory economics and current events.
  • Commitment to professional development including pursuit of advanced designations such as CFA CAIA or CFP.
  • Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail who can balance multiple projects and demands in a fast-paced dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented collaborative environment and a willingness to pitch in where needed.
  • Proactively strive to review processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • When challenged demonstrate intellectual curiosity and tenacity to find a solution.
  • Ability to successfully pass criminal background / credit check required.

This is not a remote position. Candidates should expect to be in an HB office 3 days per week. Candidates should be local or willing to relocate to Atlanta.
