Job Duties
The Mid-career Next Generation AI-Native Front-End Engineer will be a pivotal member of our Advanced Research team focusing on the development of cutting-edge user interfaces and visualization tools for our platforms and experimental prototypes. This role requires a strong understanding of modern front-end architectures a keen interest in visualizing complex data models and the ability to rapidly prototype and iterate on novel concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead UI/UX: Drive the design and development of intuitive and powerful front-end interfaces for internal tools research prototypes and proof-of-concept applications that demonstrate the capabilities of our cloud-AI-native architectures Generative/Discriminative AI/ML models Kubernetes and eBPF technologies.
Data Visualization and Interaction: Develop advanced interactive visualizations for complex AI model outputs network telemetry data and Kubernetes cluster states enabling researchers and engineers to gain deep insights and control.
Collaborate on Research & Development: Work closely with AI/ML scientists backend engineers and Kubernetes/eBPF experts to translate complex technical concepts into accessible and actionable user experiences.
Prototype & Iterate Rapidly: Embrace an agile research-driven development cycle building and iterating on prototypes quickly to test hypotheses and gather feedback.
Enhance Developer Experience: Focus on improving the usability and accessibility of our internal tools and platforms ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for our research and development teams.
Architectural Contributions: Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable performant and maintainable front-end architectures that can handle the dynamic nature of AI-driven systems.
Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers fostering their growth and development within the team and actively participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions.
Stay Ahead of the Curve: Continuously research and evaluate emerging front-end technologies visualization libraries and AI-related UI/UX patterns applying them to enhance our research capabilities and product development.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Security Engineering or a related field. Masters or Bachelor (Honours)s degree preferred.
3 years of experience in front-end development with a strong portfolio of modern web applications or data visualization projects.
Proficiency in JavaScript and React Framework.
Strong experience with modern React frameworks such as Remix or similar with a focus on performance and scalability.
Familiarity with state management libraries (e.g. Redux Zustand MobX).
Experience with data visualization libraries (e.g. ECharts Plotly) and their application to complex datasets.
Understanding of agile development methodologies in a research and development context.
Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows (e.g. pull requests code reviews) on platforms like GitHub.
Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills particularly in ambiguous and innovative environments.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with a proven track record of working with cross-functional teams (AI/ML Backend DevOps).
English: Business Level
Preferred Qualifications
Masters or Bachelor (Honours) degree in Computer Science Information Security Engineering or a related field preferred.
Experience with full-stack development including exposure to backend technologies and API design (Go).
Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes especially concerning how front ends interact with and monitor these systems.
Exposure to AI/ML concepts and experience in building UIs that interact with or visualize AI models (e.g. model training progress inference results explainable AI).
Experience designing and implementing scalable and maintainable front-end architectures for complex data-intensive applications.
Experience with performance optimization techniques for web applications especially in visualizing real-time data streams.
