Job Description

Data Quality Engineer

At IMC data is pivotal in shaping trading decisions across a wide range of financial products. We are seeking an expert to help enhance the data used in our trading algorithms. As a member of the Data Quality team you will dig deep into data to detect outliers and data quality issues at scale working with a wide range of tools and automation solutions that help you establish strong and trustworthy data insights quickly.
Your responsibilities will include the development of algorithms and come up with ways to improve the data quality in every stage of the funnel. Your work will empower our researchers and traders to develop cutting-edge trading strategies based on high-quality data. For this to be successful you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across various trading desks to understand how data is extracted and utilised ultimately finding the best ways to improve its quality.

Your responsibilities:

  • Analyse and assess new and existing data sources for quality and suitability.
  • Monitor and resolve data anomalies missing values and inconsistencies to ensure high data quality.
  • Work with data validation frameworks to ensure low-latency and accurate data streams.
  • Develop algorithms to detect potential anomalies and come up with ways to improve the data quality.
  • Build and maintain high-quality datasets for usage in trading models.
  • Collaborate with researchers and traders to identify and implement strategies for improving data quality.
  • Work with software engineer to develop solutions that structurally enhance data integrity and research workflows.
  • Effectively communicate findings and issues with stakeholders.

What you bring to the team:

  • >3 years of experience in data quality analysis data engineering working with large datasets.
  • A master degree in Mathematics Computer Science Econometrics or a related field.
  • Interest -ideally work experience- in Financial Markets and trading.
  • Strong quantitive skills and demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Thorough proficiency and extensive experience in Python (NumPy Pandas Polars)
  • Knowledge of time-series analysis and handling high-frequency data.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate clearly with technical audiences.

Note: If you have experience with data oriented software development that is highly appreciated but were looking towards the Data analytics and -quality first.
