Job Title: Head Security - Dangote Cement

Department: HAM & Admin

Section: Security

Job Scope: DCP Nigeria Plants

Reports To: DCP Group Chief HR Officer

Direct Reports: Plants Head of Security

Job Classification: Management

Job Summary

The individual in this position will bear full accountability for the comprehensive security management of the plant operations. This includes but is not limited to the protection and safeguarding of all facilities physical assets and personnel associated with the DCP Nigeria Plants. The responsibility encompasses the establishment and enforcement of security protocols monitoring of security systems and coordination with law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and secure working environment for all employees and stakeholders involved.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop security plan architecture and oversee work schedules for plant security heads across Nigeria plants
  • Develop install and monitor security governance structure for effective assess control and plant security
  • Conduct regular plant working visits including physical inspection/ review of plant environment to identify potential security threats for preventive measures
  • Ensure plants facilities assets installations and personnel are secure in compliance with approved security policies and procedures.
  • Respond to security requests/ emergency situations and take adequate steps to resolve security issues.
  • Oversee and direct the activities of plant security heads to ensure adherence to defined work schedule.
  • Participate in relevant programs at designated plant to nurture a security-conscious culture among employees.
  • Coordinate with external security agencies like Police Military Nigeria Civil Defence Corps DSS and others to ensure plants receive adequate support and collaboration with these agencies.
  • Forges strong and firm connections between plant security and the security agencies.
  • Mobilise Plant Head of Security to carry out detailed investigations of security incidents.
  • Ensure all security occurrences are properly documented reported maintained and acted upon.
  • Provide timely information to the GCHRO for developments and dissemination of security and incident reports.
  • Submit periodic activity report to the GCHRO
  • Articulates the training and logistics needs for the plant security Departments optimal functions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the GCHRO.



Requirements

Key Requirements

Education and Work Experience: Minimum Rank of Brigadier General in the Armed Forces or equivalent

Skills and Competencies:

  • Basic understanding of trends challenges opportunities regulations and legislations relating to the cement manufacturing industry.
  • A sound understanding of DCPs security requirements and ability to deploy best fit systems.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of security systems security technologies and law enforcement practices.
  • Sound knowledge of physical and security risk management approaches
  • Ability to think strategically and holistically
  • Very good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to pay adequate attention to detail.
