What we are looking for:
ODF is looking for a Wildland Fire Supervisor Assistant Center Manager to provide primary operational representation for ODFs Central Oregon District The Dalles Unit within the Columbia Cascades Interagency Communications Center located in Vancouver WA. Key responsibilities include:
Provide the first line of coordination/ODF representation for day-to-day wildfire detection initial attack and extended attack operations and facilitates the blending of federal ODF and structural resources to achieve the best outcomes involving all-risk incidents.
Assist the Center Manager in providing oversight leadership direction and supervision of all facets within CCICC and ensure that the interests policies and programs of ODF and USFS are met. This includes direct supervision of subordinate ODF dispatch staff within the center.
Plan and supervise coordinated dispatch of wildfire initial attack resources and related activities such as training record keeping setting priorities anticipating and analyzing interagency resource ordering needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Five (5) years of wildland fire suppression or emergency dispatching which includes one (1) year of leading/supervising the work of others;
OR
Bachelors degree in forestry or closely related natural resources field and two (2) year of wildland fire suppression or emergency dispatching which includes one (1) year of leading/supervising the work of others.
Note: Some positions are required to successfully take and pass the physical fitness Work Capacity Test at the moderate level.
Note: Some positions must obtain the Class B Warden certification within the trial service period.
Note: Drivers License Check - This position requires the operation of a state vehicle for the purpose of conducting official State business. If your license is from outside Oregon you must submit at least a three-year court/DMV printout. If you have an Oregon drivers license a record checkwill be conducted on the top candidate to ensure a valid license and acceptable driving record.

Strong leadership experience in wildland fire suppression activities and support in a challenging and unique work environment.
Team oriented with an interagency mindset toward building strong working relationships and experience coordinating and planning projects between multiple agencies.
Knowledge or understanding of ODFs fire protection system and the role and responsibilities of private landowners.
Knowledge of wildland fire suppression dispatching plans and procedures including but not limited to preplanned block card and multi-fire procedure extended attack closest forces and mutual aid.
Knowledge of multiple wildland fire agency missions policies procedures and dispatching programs.
Have or able to obtain Wildland fire dispatch qualifications such as IADP ACDP EDRC EDSD and EDSP.
Ability to multitask in a high paced high stress environment.
