The Quality Control Technician performs a variety of tasks throughout the organization. These tasks will vary depending on the area or function assigned to the individual. These tasks may include performing preliminary review of suspected non-conforming hardware advanced troubleshooting of problems in manufacturing assembly or test related to suspected non-conformance facilitating root cause identification and corrective action implementation complex drawing and specification interpretation purge and containment of suspected non-conforming material process audits work station audits and product audits. The position reports to a Quality Leader and requires minimal to no supervision.
Essential Functions:
Performs preliminary review of non-conforming hardware
Trouble shoots and problem solves for basic and complex product quality discrepancies
Investigates non-conformances and develops a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its reoccurrence
Provides complex procedure requirement definition and interpretation
Performs complex stock transactions involving many levels of BOMs and different dispositions
Identifies and implements root cause corrective actions
Trains and mentors level 1 Technicians
Performs random process and/or product audits
Other Essential Functions:
Reviews engineering changes to determine if hardware purge is required
Purges hardware and generates required routings and/or work orders
Interfaces with A&T Sales Purchasing Engineering and QA
Issues stop work notices if necessary based on investigation or audit findings
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Thorough understanding of assembly manufacturing and test related procedures and processes
Detailed knowledge of WISE with emphasis on stock transactions and MRB screens
Ability to perform complex inspection set-ups and use of inspection equipment
Ability to train and mentor others in interpreting complex engineering and process drawings with GD&T
Ability to mentor others in procedures and specifications
Expert level understanding of Material Review Board (MRB) process
Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization
Ability to work in a team environment
Strong time management and task prioritization skills
Ability to drive root cause investigation and corrective action implementation throughout the site
Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve basic and complex product quality discrepancies
Education:
US High School Diploma
Experience:
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Expert troubleshooting and problem solving training and/or experience
Informal or formal leadership experience that supports the ability to drive root cause investigations and corrective actions
License & Certifications:
Greenbelt certification
