Description

The Manager of Bronxville Campus Safety and Buildings and Grounds will provide support to the Director regarding safety and facilities operations. This position will also supervise the Bronxville Campus safety team. The ability to review evaluate and respond appropriately to emergent issues and to identify creative solutions will be key to success in this role.

Buildings and Grounds:

  • Provide support to the Director in the daily management of the Bronxville Campus including direct day-to-day supervision of custodial groundskeeping trades external vendors and administrative support staff
  • Survey campus conditions generally day-to-day on the grounds and buildings interior and exterior
  • Contribute to an environment that is positive collegial responsive and productive
  • Possess a thorough understanding of preventative/predictive maintenance corrective maintenance design maintainability and constructability
  • Recruit hire train manage develop and dismiss Facilities staff
  • Ensure proper maintenance of Facilities vehicles
  • Assist with routine maintenance
  • Manager administrative duties as requested by the Director

Campus Safety:

  • Responsible for the security of the Bronxville Campus and overall safety of all members and guests therein
  • Recruit hire train manage develop and dismiss safety staff
  • Manage and coordinate safety staff schedules
  • Respond effectively and efficiently to issues and incidents as they occur on campus or the surrounding area to the extent campus safety is implicated
  • Anticipate and plan for new and changing safety issues
  • Investigate thoroughly all substantial occurrences on campus coordinate the response of all law enforcement and report to senior leadership at the College
  • Ensure proper maintenance of Campus Safety vehicles
  • Act as an ambassador to the community


Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • 5 7 years management and supervisory experience
  • A good working knowledge of New York State Penal Law
  • Strong investigative skills
  • Demonstrated fluency with campus security procedure
  • Prior law enforcement experience
  • Proven organizational leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
  • NY State Drivers License
