The Assistant Director under general direction assists the Director in all aspects of departmental operations for the Office of Title III Programs.
This position is funded by grant or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant or restricted funding.
This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities:
Assists the Director in monitoring the implementation of grant activities to ensure compliance with university system federal policies and regulations and the approved activity plan. Recommends corrective actions when needed.
Under general guidance manages one of the Title III grants. Monitors activity progress approves expenditures and resolves issues.
Assists the director in preparing required reports for the Department of Education. This includes new grant applications Phase I and II reports Interim Annual Performance Reports Annual Performance Reports and grant extension requests. Assists the Director and Business Administrator III with a grant close out.
Assists the Director in evaluating the Office of Title III Programs policies and procedures. Recommends ways to improve grant management.
Monitors activity reports portal and ensures that required reports are submitted in a timely manner. Assists with the annual inventory audit.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in applicable field.
Six years of related experience in administration in a university setting or business environment.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Strong organizational skills detailed oriented.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of word processing spreadsheet and database applications.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Masters degree.
Eight years of progressive experience in program administration.
