We are a fast-growing and well-respected multi-disciplinary consultancy providing a range of complementary services including Crown property advisory land acquisition disposal legalisation planning services project management GIS and landscape architecture. What youll do

As a property specialist in acquisitions disposals and legalisation based out of our Wellington office you will work across a range of significant infrastructure projects in Wellington the surrounding regions and nationally delivering great project and community outcomes for our clients. This role will see you as part of our Technical Team providing property advice training and mentoring to the national property team.

If you are a highly technical property expert in the areas of disposals acquisitions and legalisation and you are ready for a new challenge want more variety in your work and want to be part of a motivated and growing company then this role could be for you.

Key tasks associated with the role will include:

  • Assist clients with the divestment of property and assets via the Public Works Act Land Act Reserves Act and Local Government Act.
  • Lead landowner negotiations for the acquisition of land and property rights under the Public Works Act 1981; for a range of infrastructure projects.
  • Property due diligence scoping & research including property strategies and property cost estimation.
  • Undertake stakeholder engagement and public consultation.
  • Prepare reports for clients and crown agencies including Land Information New Zealand
  • Provide advice under the Public Works Act Land Act and Local Government Act
  • Programming and forecasting for property projects
  • Management of property and multidisciplinary projects
  • Engaging and coordinating third party suppliers and clients including crown agencies councils lawyers real estate agents valuers and surveyors.
  • Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve desired and favourable outcomes for all parties.

Skills experience and qualities

The role will be suited to either an experienced intermediate or a senior property professional who has the below skills and experience in disposals acquisition and legalisation:

  • A relevant property or legal related tertiary qualification or equivalent and relevant industry experience
  • Ideally you will have 5 years of property experience relevant to the role
  • Knowledge and experience with the Public Works Act Reserves Act Treaty legislation Land Act and/or Local Government Act
  • Comprehensive understanding and interpretation of complex and technical property legislations.
  • Ability to build a strong rapport with stakeholders and show empathy.
  • You will have a passion for mentoring training and supporting junior staff sharing your knowledge skills and experience.
  • Ability to problem solve and think creatively to find solutions
  • Excellent report writing skills and attention to detail
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and keep a cool head under pressure
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Project
