JOB TITLE: Overhead Crane Operator
JOB LOCATION:Lagos
JOB DETAILS:
ADVERTISEMENT
- We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Overhead Crane Operator to join our team.
- The ideal candidate will operate overhead cranes to move and position materials and equipment safely and efficiently in our facility. As a Crane Operator youll play a crucial role in supporting our operations and ensuring a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate overhead cranes to lift move position and unload materials and products.
- Perform pre-operational checks on cranes and safety equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Follow safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Read and interpret load charts and crane data to determine proper loading capacities and operating conditions.
- Communicate effectively with team members and ground personnel using hand signals and radio.
- Maintain operational logs and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs of the cranes promptly.
- Ensure materials are properly secured and that they meet safety standards during lifting and movement.
- Participate in safety training and ongoing development to stay current with best practices and regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid overhead crane operator certification (e.g. NCCCO CIC or equivalent).
- Proven experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols related to crane operation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints load charts and operational manuals.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position including standing for long periods and working in various weather conditions.
