A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SNAP-ED NUTRITION EDUCATOR
Picture this: You start your morning at a local elementary school leading an interactive cooking demo where third graders discover that vegetables can actually taste amazing. After lunch youre partnering with a community center director to design a new wellness initiative that will reach hundreds of families. Your afternoon wraps up with data entry and planning tomorrows food tasting event at the senior center-where you know Mrs. Rodriguez will ask for that healthy salsa recipe again. Every day brings new faces fresh challenges and the rewarding feeling that youre making nutrition accessible and fun for everyone.
What Youll Do
WHAT YOU NEED
Bachelors degree in public health education nutrition or related field Strong public speaking and presentation skills Attention to detail and unparalleled time management skills Experience working with a broad range of populations especially low-income communities Flexibility & adaptability Valid drivers license with reliable transportation; regular travel required Proficiency in Microsoft Office Youth education in school settings (Huge Plus) Public health programming (Another Plus) Community outreach and partnership building (Wow Youve Got it All)
